The Specials' self-titled debut album, "Specials," released in 1979, is a seminal work in the British ska revival movement. The album showcases the band's unique blend of punk energy and ska rhythms, which would come to define the 2 Tone genre. Among the tracks on this influential record are "Concrete Jungle," a song that delves into urban strife and disaffection, and "Monkey Man," a cover of the Toots and the Maytals classic that exemplifies the band's ability to reinterpret Jamaican music with a punk sensibility. "You're Wondering Now" ends the album on a reflective note, originally by Andy & Joey, it's known for its poignant lyrics and smooth melody.
