Just in time for the release of Marvel's new "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie, the official soundtrack to the summer's action-packed climax is out on August 29: "Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1" collects 12 classic songs from the 1970s that play a starring role in the film - including tracks like Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling," 10cc's "I'm Not In Love," Redbone's "Come and Get Your Love" and The Runaways' "Cherry Bomb." Music plays an extremely important role in Guardians of the Galaxy, as the songs used in the film are actually central to the plot: an important plot point is that one of the main characters, Quill, has a mix tape ["Awesome Mix #1"] that his mother put together for him shortly before her death. Worldwide charts show how well the interplay of film and music works here: in the US, the soundtrack reached number one on the Billboard chart!
