German thrash metal band

Tankard is a German thrash metal band formed in Frankfurt in 1982. Known for their high-energy music and alcohol-related themes, they are considered one of the "Big Teutonic Four" of German thrash metal, alongside Kreator, Destruction, and Sodom. Tankard's lineup has remained relatively stable over the years, with vocalist Andreas "Gerre" Geremia being a consistent member since the band's inception. The band's debut album, "Zombie Attack," was released in 1986 and quickly established their presence in the metal scene with its raw sound and humorous approach to lyrics. Over the years, Tankard has maintained a dedicated fan base and continued to release albums consistently. Their discography includes numerous full-length albums, EPs, and compilations that showcase their evolution while staying true to their thrash metal roots. Despite not achieving the same level of commercial success as some of their contemporaries, Tankard has remained influential within the genre and is celebrated for their contributions to thrash metal and their unapologetic celebration of beer and fun within their music.
