Noise Records is releasing quality reissues of Tankard's early albums. Completely remastered with new liner notes and previously unreleased visuals. Tankard is a thrash metal band from Frankfurt, Germany, formed in 1982. Along with Kreator, Destruction and Sodom, Tankard are often referred to as the "big four" of German thrash metal. They released their first album in 1986 and have since continued writing and recording as they started then: fast thrash metal over beer and alcohol. When thrash metal gave way a bit to grunge in the nineties, Tankard stayed true to themselves and in 1992 released another exquisite piece of Teutonic thrash with the ironically titled "Stone Cold Sober". This offered Tankard in classic form - gritty and insanely fast, but lyrically a little more serious again - from the band's thunderous cover of J. Geil's "Centrefold". Thrash metal may not have been in vogue at the time, but Tankard's devoted fans remained loyal to the band, calling this album one of their best.
