Jean Guillou (1930-2019) was a distinguished French composer, organist, and pedagogue known for his virtuosic technique and innovative interpretations of the organ repertoire. Throughout his career, Guillou served as the titular organist at Saint-Eustache in Paris from 1963 to 2015, a position that allowed him to showcase his exceptional improvisational skills and his dedication to the French organ tradition. As a composer, he contributed significantly to the organ literature with compositions that often reflected his interest in extending the technical and expressive capabilities of the instrument.
