The xx's next level of sound More open and positive than previous albums - that's how The xx describe their new third album "I See You", which they are launching in 2017. And that's exactly the impression the first single "On Hold", which was released on November 10, 2016, gives. The London-based indie pop rock band has thus visibly moved on in the four years since the release of its predecessor "Coexist". Their sound is still unmistakable, but they are still venturing into new sonic territories. The influence of beatmaker Jamie xx's 2015 solo debut "In Colour" is also undeniable. Romy Madley Croft (vocals, guitar), Oliver Sim (vocals, bass) and Jamie Smith (drums) recorded a total of ten new tracks for "I See You". From March 2014 to August 2016 they travelled halfway around the world and found suitable studios in New York, Los Angeles, Marfa, London and Reykjavik. The production was handled by old friend Rodaidh McDonald. He had already worked behind the mixing desk on the xx's first two albums. In addition to the standard CD, "I See You" is available as a limited edition LP and CD, as well as in a deluxe box set. This includes the album on CD and 180g LP, a 12" vinyl with three bonus tracks, a CD-ROM with the live video "Brave For You (Marfa Demo)" and three art prints by Alasdair McLellan. The xx's long-awaited third album is here. "I See You" not only continues their signature sound, but takes it to a new level.
