R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece is Snoop Dogg's seventh studio album. It was released on November 16, 2004 on Doggystyle Records and premiered on Star Trak Entertainment and Geffen Records. The album was produced by The Neptunes, The Alchemist, Lil Jon, Hi-Tek, Warryn Campbell and L. T. Hutton, among others. The album features the hit single Drop It Like It's Hot with Pharrell, produced by The Neptunes. The song attracted critical attention for its very spare production and was nominated for the 2005 Grammy Awards in the categories of Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. The song also reached number 10 on the UK Singles Chart and number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and became Snoop's first US single. The song reached the top ten in 12 countries. The masterpiece will now be released on 2LP 180 grams.
