On a total of eleven tracks that display pure melodic toughness, the quintet pays tribute to all those who had to lose their lives during this cruel period - all soldiers and their heroic deeds that must never be forgotten! Already with their debut Eschatology Of War (2014) and the follow-up The Blind Leading The Blind (2018), 1914 managed to convince fans and critics alike with their meticulous and detailed exploration of history, wrapped in an impressive sonic spectrum. The band's musical expression is as raw and unadorned as the subject matter 1914 fully embraces. Massively brutal blackened death metal, underscored by dramatic soundscapes and laced with sludge and doom, sets the tone for "Where Fear and Weapons Meet". Thanks to informed research and an almost endless thirst for knowledge, the Ukrainians' latest work also feels authentic, which again deserves absolute respect.
