Influential British post-punk band

The Fall was an English post-punk band formed in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, in 1976. The group was founded by its leader and only constant member, Mark E. Smith. The Fall's music was characterized by its abrasive sound, repetitive guitar-driven melodies, and Smith's distinctive, snarling vocal style and cryptic lyrics. Throughout their career, The Fall underwent numerous lineup changes, with Smith being the driving force and the only continuous member until his death in 2018.
