The band's classic lineup consisted of vocalist Robin Zander, guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, and drummer Bun E. Carlos. Cheap Trick is known for their blending of elements from pop, punk, and metal to create a sound that is both catchy and powerful. They gained popularity with a string of hit songs in the late 1970s and early 1980s, including "Surrender," "I Want You to Want Me," and "Dream Police." Their live album "Cheap Trick at Budokan" (1978) was a major success and brought them international fame.
