Music Hall

Music Hall is a type of British theatrical entertainment that has been popular since the early Victorian era and began around 1850. It faded away after 1918 as halls changed their entertainment to variety. The perception of the difference in Britain between the daring and scandalous Victorian music hall and the subsequent more respectable Variety differs. The music hall included a mixture of popular songs, comedy, special games and varied entertainment. The term is derived from the type of theatre or venue where such entertainment took place. In North America, the variety show was in some ways analogous to the British music hall , which featured rousing songs and comic acts.
