Icelandic Indie Electronic Band

Vök is an Icelandic electronic band formed in 2013 by singer Margrét Rán and saxophonist Andri Már. The band's name comes from the Icelandic word for 'hole in the ice'. They quickly gained attention in their native country after winning Músíktilraunir, an annual battle of the bands competition in Iceland. Their sound is characterized by dreamy electronics with melodic vocals, a blend of synth-pop with a touch of indie and electronic influences. Vök released their debut EP "Tension" shortly after their formation, which was well-received and helped establish their presence in the Icelandic music scene. They have since released several albums and have continued to build their international fanbase, touring extensively and performing at various music festivals around the world. Their music has been noted for its ethereal quality and has been compared to the likes of The xx and Portishead.
