Indian Percussion Virtuoso and Composer

V. Selvaganesh is an Indian percussionist and composer known for his virtuosity in playing the kanjira, a South Indian frame drum. He comes from a lineage of celebrated musicians; he is the grandson of the legendary mridangam player Palghat Mani Iyer and the son of T.H. "Vikku" Vinayakram, a Grammy Award-winning ghatam player. Selvaganesh gained prominence through his work with the world fusion group Shakti, where he played alongside John McLaughlin and Zakir Hussain, contributing to the band's reformation in the late 1990s.
