The Sonics are a pioneering garage rock band that originated from Tacoma, Washington, in the early 1960s. They are widely regarded as one of the first bands to have encapsulated the aggressive energy and raw sound that would later influence punk and grunge music. The original lineup consisted of Gerry Roslie on keyboards and lead vocals, Andy Parypa on bass, his brother Larry Parypa on guitar, Rob Lind on saxophone, and Bob Bennett on drums. The Sonics are known for their wild and raucous style, featuring distorted guitar, hard-edged vocals, and lyrics that often dealt with themes like teenage angst and rebellion.
