The Hives are a high-energy garage rock band from Fagersta, Sweden, known for their raucous live performances and sharp black-and-white dress code. Formed in 1993, the group consists of lead vocalist Howlin' Pelle Almqvist, guitarists Nicholaus Arson and Vigilante Carlstroem, bassist Dr. Matt Destruction, and drummer Chris Dangerous. They gained international fame in the early 2000s with their album "Veni Vidi Vicious," which included the hit single "Hate to Say I Told You So." This success was amplified by the compilation album "Your New Favourite Band," which helped them break into the UK market. The Hives are often associated with the garage rock revival of that era alongside bands like The Strokes and The White Stripes. Their debut album "Barely Legal" established their raw sound and set the stage for their subsequent success. Throughout their career, The Hives have maintained a reputation for their irreverent attitude and distinctively energetic concerts, contributing to their status as one of Sweden's most notable rock exports.
