Status Quo is a British rock band that was formed in 1962 under the name "The Scorpions" by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster. The band underwent several name changes before settling on Status Quo. They became known for their brand of boogie rock and had hits with songs like "Rockin' All Over the World" and "Whatever You Want." The group's classic lineup consisted of Francis Rossi (lead vocals, lead guitar), Rick Parfitt (rhythm guitar, vocals), Alan Lancaster (bass, vocals), and John Coghlan (drums). Over the years, Status Quo has released dozens of albums and are known for their prolific output and enduring presence in the rock music scene. They have had a significant impact on British rock music, with a career spanning over five decades. Despite changes in their lineup and the death of Rick Parfitt in 2016, Status Quo continues to record and perform, maintaining a loyal fan base across the world.
