British Northern Soul DJ and Music Promoter

Soul DJ, promoter and radio show presenter based in Bolton, Greater Manchester, born on 14 June 1952. A former DJ at the Wigan Casino and other venues until his retirement from club DJing in September 2019. Founded Expansion in 1986 with John Anderson (75) on which he continues to release compilations, notably the Soul Togetherness series. Authored a book on the Northern Soul scene, Setting The Record Straight: Music And Memories From Wigan Casino 1973-1981, published in September 2018. Awarded the British Empire Medal in June 2019 for services to the soul music industry and community in the north of England; the medal was presented in November 2019.
