German Progressive Folk Metal Duo

Noekk is a progressive/doom metal band that was formed by two German musicians, Markus Stock and Thomas Helm, after the hiatus of their previous band, Empyrium. The duo adopted the name Noekk, which is inspired by a water spirit from German folklore, and they have been known for their blend of progressive rock and metal with dark, folkloric elements. Their music often features complex arrangements and a moody atmosphere. The band's discography includes several albums, among which "The Water Sprite" is notable. Released in 2005, it was their debut album under the Noekk moniker. Both Stock and Helm are multi-instrumentalists and share vocal duties in the project. They are also associated with the record label Prophecy Productions, which has a reputation for releasing music by artists with an emphasis on atmospheric and avant-garde influences.
