Nihilist was a Swedish death metal band formed in 1987 by Nicke Andersson, Alex Hellid, and Leif "Leffe" Cuzner. Despite their relatively short existence, they are considered one of the pioneers of the Swedish death metal scene. The band's lineup underwent several changes throughout its career, with members such as Johnny Hedlund and Uffe Cederlund contributing to their sound. Nihilist produced a series of demo tapes that had a significant impact on the burgeoning death metal scene of the late 1980s. These demos were later compiled and released posthumously as "Nihilist (1987-1989)" after the band had already disbanded.
