Post-Hardcore Punk Band

Laughing Hyenas was an influential post-hardcore band that emerged from the vibrant music scene of Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the mid-1980s. The group was known for its intense, blues-infused sound and the raw, emotive vocals of frontman John Brannon, who previously fronted the hardcore punk band Negative Approach. Laughing Hyenas also included guitarist Larissa Strickland, bassist Kevin Strickland, and drummer Jim Kimball. They were part of the Touch and Go Records roster, a label renowned for its roster of punk and indie bands.
