Tuareg Desert Rock Band

Imarhan is a Tuareg band from Algeria, formed in 2006. Their music is a blend of traditional Tuareg sounds and modern influences, creating a style that has been described as "desert blues" with elements of rock, funk, and African rhythms. The band's name means 'the ones I care about' in their native language of Tamasheq. Imarhan gained international recognition with their self-titled debut album "Imarhan," released in 2016, which showcased their ability to infuse the guitar-driven melodies characteristic of Tuareg music with contemporary sounds. They followed up with their second album "Temet" in 2018, further expanding their musical horizons and emphasizing messages of unity and connection. Their third album "Aboogi," released in 2022, was named after the band's new studio in Tamanrasset, southern Algeria, and continues to reflect their cultural heritage while embracing a global perspective. Imarhan has been praised for their energetic live performances and for pushing the boundaries of Tuareg music by incorporating various musical influences while staying true to their roots.
