Het Brabants Orkest, known as The Brabant Orchestra in English, was a symphony orchestra based in the province of North Brabant in the Netherlands. Established in 1950, it served as one of the major orchestras in the country, contributing to the region's cultural scene with a wide repertoire that spanned from classical to contemporary music. The orchestra performed in various venues across North Brabant, including its main concert hall, the Muziekgebouw Frits Philips in Eindhoven. Over the years, Het Brabants Orkest collaborated with many distinguished conductors and soloists, both from the Netherlands and abroad. In 2013, Het Brabants Orkest merged with the Limburgs Symfonie Orkest to form a new ensemble known as the Philharmonie Zuidnederland. This merger was part of a restructuring process within the Dutch classical music scene aimed at maintaining high-quality orchestral music in the region despite financial challenges.
