Swedish-Finnish Folk Fusion Band

Hedningarna ("The Heathens" in English) is a Swedish band that brings ancient Nordic music into the modern era. Their world is a place where primitive, brutal folk music collides with sampling and programming. The band was founded by Anders Norudde, Hållbus Totte Mattsson, and Björn Tollin in 1987. Band members Current line-up: Hållbus Totte Mattsson - mandora, lute, moraoud, hurdy-gurdy, accordion, hummel. (1987 - present) Anders Norudde (credited on early records as Anders Stake) - fiddles, keyed fiddles, bowed harp, Swedish bagpipe, flutes, jews harp, hardanger fiddle. (1987 - present) Magnus Stinnerbom - viola, hurdy-gurdy. (1999 - present). Christian Svensson - percussion and sampler. (2000 - present).
