Frank Black And The Catholics

Frank Black And The Catholics

Alternative Rock Band Led by Pixies Frontman

Frank Black and the Catholics was a rock band led by Black Francis, also known as Frank Black, who is best known as the frontman of the influential alternative rock band Pixies. After the Pixies initially disbanded in 1993, Frank Black embarked on a solo career before forming Frank Black and the Catholics in the late 1990s. The band's self-titled debut album, "Frank Black and the Catholics," was released in 1998 and marked a departure from the heavily produced style of his earlier solo work to a more raw, live-to-two-track recording method. The band was known for its straightforward rock sound with elements of punk and Americana. They released several albums during their active years, including "Pistolero" (1999), "Dog in the Sand" (2001), "Black Letter Days" (2002), and "Devil's Workshop" (2002). The band's final studio album was "Show Me Your Tears" in 2003 before Frank Black returned to his solo career and eventually participated in Pixies reunions.
