Foxygen is an American indie rock duo formed in 2005 by multi-instrumentalists Sam France and Jonathan Rado. The band is known for their eclectic sound, drawing on a wide range of influences including psychedelic rock, avant-garde, and classic rock. They first gained attention with their 2012 EP "Take The Kids Off Broadway," which showcased their ability to blend vintage sounds with modern sensibilities. Their follow-up album, "We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors Of Peace & Magic," released in 2013, received critical acclaim and further established their reputation for crafting retro-inspired yet fresh and dynamic music. In 2017, Foxygen released "Hang," an album that featured a 40-plus-piece symphony orchestra on every track, signaling another evolution in their sound and ambition. Throughout their career, Foxygen has been noted for their energetic live performances and the creative chemistry between France and Rado.
