New home, new sound, new Mac Demarco album The old dog and the old man are just two of the characters Mac Demarco sings about on his new album. The Canadian musician and singer dedicates the first two singles "My Old Man" and the title track "This Old Dog" to them. Otherwise, Demarco is as thematically rich as ever on the record, once again perfecting his jizz jazz as the father of the genre. This time, however, he takes a more acoustic approach than on his two predecessors, "2" (2012) and "Salad Days" (2014). And so, apart from drum machines and synths, you'll be treated to mostly acoustic guitars. Electric guitar is used only once. The multi-instrumentalist recorded 13 songs for the album "This Old Dog" all by himself. In addition to the standard CD, "This Old Dog" is also available as a limited edition double CD. Record lovers will be in for a treat if they get the LP or the limited colored vinyl. Something new all the time: After moving to Los Angeles, Mac Demarco is starting 2017 with a new sound and a new album. Here's "This Old Dog."
