Fever Ray is the solo project of Karin Elisabeth Dreijer, who is also known for being one half of the Swedish electronic music duo The Knife, alongside her brother Olof Dreijer. Fever Ray's eponymous debut album was released in 2009 and received widespread acclaim for its haunting soundscapes, ethereal vocals, and evocative lyrics. The album's lead single, "If I Had a Heart," became well-known for its use in television series such as "Breaking Bad" and "Vikings." After a hiatus, Fever Ray returned with a second studio album, "Plunge," in 2017, which was noted for its more direct and confrontational sound compared to the introspective nature of the debut. The album was followed by a remix collection titled "Plunge Remix" in 2019. Fever Ray's music is characterized by themes of identity, sexuality, and complex human relationships, often delivered through an experimental and innovative approach to electronic music.
