Ezio Flagello

American Operatic Bass-Baritone

Ezio Flagello was an American operatic bass known for his rich voice and dramatic presence. Born on January 28, 1931, in New York City, he became one of the leading basses of his time. Flagello made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 1957 and enjoyed a long and distinguished career there, performing in a wide variety of roles. He was particularly noted for his interpretations of the Italian repertoire, including operas by Verdi and Puccini.
