Grunge Icon and Soundgarden Frontman

Chris Cornell was an American musician, singer, and songwriter who gained fame as the lead vocalist for the rock bands Soundgarden and Audioslave. Born on July 20, 1964, in Seattle, Washington, Cornell was one of the architects of the grunge movement and is considered one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time. With Soundgarden, he achieved critical and commercial success with albums such as "Superunknown" (1994), which featured hits like "Black Hole Sun" and "Spoonman." After Soundgarden disbanded in 1997, Cornell pursued a solo career and released several albums including "Euphoria Morning" (1999). He later joined Audioslave with former members of Rage Against the Machine, releasing three successful albums before the group disbanded in 2007.
