Audioslave

Audioslave

American Rock Supergroup

Audioslave was an American rock supergroup formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2001. The band consisted of Soundgarden's lead singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell and Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello (lead guitar), Tim Commerford (bass/backing vocals), and Brad Wilk (drums). Their sound was a unique mix of Soundgarden's alternative rock and Rage Against the Machine's funk metal. Audioslave released their self-titled debut album "Audioslave" in 2002 to positive reviews and commercial success. It included hits like "Cochise," "Like a Stone," and "Show Me How to Live." They followed up with their second album, "Out of Exile," in 2005, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Their third album, "Revelations," came out in 2006, showcasing a sound that continued to evolve and blend the styles of its members. Despite their success, Audioslave disbanded in 2007 after Cornell left the group, citing personal and musical differences. The band briefly reunited for a one-off performance in January 2017 for the anti-inaugural ball protesting President Donald Trump's election before Cornell's untimely death in May of that year.
