Bass Drum of Death is an American garage rock band formed in Oxford, Mississippi in 2008 by John Barrett. Initially a one-man project, Barrett played all the instruments on the recordings and performed live with a bassist and drummer. The band's sound is characterized by its raw, lo-fi aesthetic, blending elements of punk, hard rock, and blues. They gained recognition for their energetic live shows and for their debut album "GB City," released in 2011. Following the success of their first album, Bass Drum of Death continued to build their reputation with subsequent releases and tours. In 2014, they released "Rip This," which continued to showcase their gritty garage rock style while also displaying a slight evolution in their sound.
