Tears For Fears is an English pop rock band formed in Bath, England, in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. The group gained prominence in the 1980s with their debut album, "The Hurting" (1983), which featured hits like "Mad World" and "Pale Shelter." However, it was their second album, "Songs From The Big Chair" (1985), that catapulted them to international fame, thanks to chart-topping singles such as "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and "Shout." These tracks not only showcased the band's synth-pop sound but also their ability to infuse their music with a depth of psychological and emotional introspection, drawing on influences from the new wave genre.
