Rockabilly from the Roulette Records archive! - We think rockabilly sounds great on compact discs. That's why in 1992 we decided to create the ultimate rockabilly series, That'll Flat Git It! - originally this kind of music was released on singles, so we've structured our new series by label, not by artist. And we've done everything we can to make it a treat for the ears - one hit after another, with a few top rarities thrown in -- each CD was intended to be, in a sense, a 30-track box of music, preferably with the best rockabilly songs ever recorded for all the legendary labels. We tried to find the best sounding tapes, then had them mastered by leading mastering specialists, and also set new standards in packaging. We chose "That'll Flat Git It!" as the main title for the series, which is the verbal signature of rockabilly's first disc jockey, Dewey Phillips. -- For the compilation, we were able to enlist Bill Millar, who compiled classic rockabilly LPs in the seventies and eighties. We also searched for previously unpublished photographic material and tracked down all the performers we had previously searched in vain. The result is our unique Rockabilly series with a total of 27 episodes. We gathered the best sounding tapes and gave them to the best mastering engineers, and then took the packaging to the next level. We took Dewey Phillips' first rockabilly dee-jay catchphrase "That'll Flat Git It!" and we hired Bill Millar, who had compiled the still-classic rockabilly LPs in the '70s and '80s aimed at the label, to write the liner notes. We searched for previously unpublished photos and tried to find any artists that hadn't yet been located. The result is a truly definitive Rockabilly series that now numbers twenty-seven volumes.
