For over three years, Adam Granduciel experimented in various studios in New York and Los Angeles, writing new songs and recording them. He worked closely with his bandmates David Hartley (bass), Robbie Bennett (keyboards), Charlie Hall (drums) and multi-instrumentalists Anthony LaMarca and Jon Natchez. The result is ten brand new songs, including the single "Thinking Of A Place" and the first official single "Holding On". Both songs make it clear that The War On Drugs are staying true to their unmistakable sound that characterizes "A Deeper Understanding," though they seem to have delved even deeper into the subject matter. And so the new record is once again an impressive blend of indie rock and Americana, synth psychedelic rock and 80s dream pop. War On Drugs simply understand music in depth.
