Its release marked the moment when reggae began to truly "make its mark" on the international scene. Although Catch A Fire introduced Bob Marley to the world outside his Caribbean homeland, it was not the singer's first album. In fact, it wasn't even a Bob Marley album. Catch A Fire was the fifth album by The Wailers, a group that had been playing and recording together in Jamaica for more than a decade before its release.
