"Hymns For The Drunk" is the ultimate best-of Tankard's "most alcoholic" songs When four long-haired metal maniacs in Frankfurt am Main decided to form the band TANKARD (beer mug in English) in 1982, none of the participants knew that the band would still exist more than three decades later. Let alone that the band would become the vanguard of German thrash metal. Now, on 12.1.2018, TANKARD's Best Of "Hymns For The Drunk" is released. "This Best Of represents a cross-section of our creative phase between 2002 and 2010 when we were active on AFM. Henner (R.I.P.) gave TANKARD a new chance in early 2000 when he signed us. In doing so, he was instrumental in breathing new life into the band. The release of "B-Day" in 2002 was an important turning point in the band's history, because with it we finally returned to the metal circus. So the AFM years will always be an important part of TANKARD's history! Have fun with it!" Gerre, September 2017
