SLZA releases the therapeutic album Monodrama.

With their most colourful album, they are touring clubs in October

The album Monodrama was almost three and a half years in the making. SLZA had their first session just a few months after the release of 3. That's when the song Storm was written, which was also the first single and a precursor of the new project. SLZA finished it today, September 22, when they released their fourth album, Monodrama. The genre and visual variety of the album was contributed by authors and friends from the industry led by Pam Rabbit, Jiří Krhut, Ondřej Ládek, as well as rapper Refew and producer Enthic. Listeners can expect well-known hits such as Storm, Cervanky or Not So Bad, as well as complete novelties. Among them is the pilot single Magnets, for which a music video has been released.

"We didn't let anything push us, we didn't give ourselves any deadlines, we just kept writing, kept ourselves in the creative process and we knew that when the time was right and we felt it was time for another album, we would put together the ten best songs for us and release it. That's also why you can find songs on the album that we've had in a drawer for maybe two years, as well as songs that we wrote just a few weeks ago. It seems to me that the album is a bit more colourful and varied because of that," says Petr Lexa, the band's frontman.

"There is no common thematic line in the lyrics, I didn't want to tie myself down unnecessarily, but they are connected by one thing, and that's why the title Monodrama, that all the themes are based on my feelings and often a bit deeper and darker than it was with the previous three albums. After all, the period of Catharsis and Holomráz, when basically all the lyrics were inspired by my first break-up, is long gone. Back then I couldn't even sing about anything else. It stuck with me for a long time and I couldn't let it go. When I let go of it, I started to dig much deeper within myself and discover themes that I might never have opened up if it weren't for the lyrics. So it was partly a kind of therapy," says Lexa.

"We experimented a lot while writing the material for the fourth album. We composed songs both alone and with new co-writers, colleagues and friends such as Pam Rabbit, Jiří Krhut, Ondra Ládek, producers Enthic, Oliver Som, Her Demons or rapper Refew. But the basis of our work remains the same since the first album - strong melodic songs and contemporary production. We tried to reflect the freshness of the album in the visuals, giving space to colours and bold yellow. It is also a connecting element to our club tour, during which we will visit clubs in Brno, Ostrava, Pardubice and Prague during October.
