Marvin Lee Aday had two problems: he had a weird name and he was too fat. His high school sports teacher always called him Meat Loaf, and he didn't like it at first. Later, when Marvin had long since decided to make a hamburger in the music business, he made a virtue out of want. Now he called himself Meat Loaf, and he made it known with his voice of the century to all who had previously mocked him. When he appeared in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Jim Steinman saw him there. The songwriter had long been searching for a singer who could interpret his powerful songs without getting out of breath on the second verse. They quickly came to an agreement. In May 1978, the LP "Bat Out Of Hell" was released and the world was speechless. Meat Loaf screamed and moaned during his mini-rock operas, literally living the songs he was tearing his audience apart with. "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad", "Paradise By The Dashboard Light", "Heaven Can Wait" and "Modern Girl" became rock anthems - and still are today.
