Earth, fire, water, air and much more Ludovico Einaudi presents his second new album for 2015 "Elements". In the first half of the year, he released an album with an interpretation of the Italian folk dance tarantella. For the new album he felt the need to take new steps, to look for a new approach. So Ludovico Einaudi went to the beginning and first dealt with creation myths. Then came elements of classical Greek philosophy, Euclid's geometry, natural structures, synaesthesia and the writings of Wassily Kandinsky. All these approaches led in very different directions and at first appeared to be a chaos of thoughts, ideas and feelings. But after a few months, when Einaudi began the musical realization, everything came together. The different ideas literally began to dance together. "If it weren't music, it would be a map of ideas," Ludovico Einaudi describes the creation of "Elements". Alongside the music, he also worked on the graphic realisation. One of the many drawings he created eventually became the cover of the new album. Elements" was recorded with a group of musicians with whom Ludovico Einaudi has been performing for three years. Special guests were the excellent Amsterdam Sinfonietta. Daniel Hope and Robert Lippok, who have appeared on Einaudi's recordings in the past, participated again. The twelve movements of "Elements" together form a suite. In an interview, Ludovico Einaudi expressed the hope that listeners will take their time with the new album. One should read it like a good book and each piece is like a chapter of that book. Ludovico Einaudi's name has been a symbol of contemplative music and electronic alienation since his debut. On his new album "Elements", the willing listener will find all this again. Einaudi dances the elements in his inimitable way.
