For the Irish quartet Kodaline, music is not just music. "It's a kind of therapy for us," says lead singer Steve Garrigan. Two years ago, when he and childhood friend Mark Prendergast were helping each other through a breakup with their partners, they translated their thoughts into songs about love and loss. "It's very, very easy to write after breakups," laughs the blond Kodaline frontman, "when we're working on songs, the first thing that always comes to mind is 'it's therapeutic'. And then we think about how we can reach as many people as possible with that feeling." It seems to be working quite well for their first single: 'All I Want' was the song of the expressive Google Image trailer for 'Zeitgeist 2012: Year In Review', which racked up 2.5 million views in two days.
