Known for their distinctive vocals, which often included harmonized vocals from Jerry Cantrell and singer Layne Staley, Alice in Chains reached an impasse after the release of their 1995 album of the same name and ceased performing. Cantrell therefore decided to step up to the fore and release something of his own, entirely on his own. However, "Boggy Depot" featured Alice In Chains members Sean Kinney on drums and Mike Inez on bass. Three other very well-known bassists contributed to the album: Rex Brown of Pantera, John Norwood Fisher of Fishbone and Les Claypool of Primus. Everything that Alice In Chains fans love, especially the somber atmosphere and gritty, ripping guitars, is here in abundance.
