New 2CD edition with two classic Jefferson Airplane albums / Remastered from the original tapes / Includes an illustrated booklet with new sleeve notes Remastered 2CD set includes two albums "Long John Silver" and "Thirty Seconds Over Winterland", originally released in 1972 and 1973 on Grunt Records. "Long John Silver" was the last studio album recorded in the 1970s by Grace Slick (piano and vocals), Paul Kantner (rhythm guitar and vocals), Jack Casady (bass), Jorma Kaukonen (solo guitar and vocals), Papa John Creach (violin) and John Barbata (drums). Drummer Joey Covington was still present during the recording of the album in March and May 1972 (on the tracks "Twilight Double Leader" and "The Son of Jesus"), but after his departure he was replaced by Sammy Piazza ("Trial by Fire") and John Barbata, who finished the album on drums. After the album's release, Jefferson Airplane toured the U.S. extensively and recorded shows at the Chicago Auditorium and Winterland in San Francisco. Highlights were released in April 1973 under the title "Thirty Seconds Over Winterland". This live album remained the band's last released album.
