Six months later, in September 1956, Elvis Presley was a guest on Ed Sullivan's show. Elvis mania was already rampant, with ratings reaching a staggering 82.6%. Even the most modest guardians of morality were unable to stop this upheaval - the cameramen on Sullivan's show were instructed not to show Elvis in long takes, but only in shots above the waist. King's record company, in turn, released seven singles at once to mark the occasion. In addition to the two aforementioned TV appearances, the Elvis 56 DVD documents many other unreleased photos and footage (fun fact: Elvis and Liberace playing guitar together in Las Vegas!), sensitively commented by Levon Helm (drummer for Bob Dylan's former backing band The Band). At live shows, the King of Rock 'n' Roll is accompanied by a trio or quartet.
