DESCENDENTS formed in 1978 in Los Angeles' South Bay as a power trio with bassist Tony Lombard, drummer Bill Stevenson and guitarist Frank Navetta (d. 2008). In 1980, singer Milo Aukerman joined the band and they began to establish themselves as major players in the Southern California punk movement. Over the years, the band maintained a strong chemistry and shared vision that further cemented them as punk legends. In 2002, the original four-piece lineup - Frank Navetta, Tony Lombardo, Bill Stevenson and Milo Aukerman - returned to the studio to finally record their first songs. The band wrote the songs between 1977 and 1980, before recording the EP "Fat" (1981) and the LP "Milo Goes to College" (1982). Simply put, this is the earliest DESCENDENTS material, representing a "lost" album before the formation of MGTC. Most of these songs have never been heard - until now. All the elements of the DESCENDENTS sound that are typical of the genre are present here: Stevenson's hyper-creative surf beats, Lombard's fearless bass, Navette's sharp attack, Aukerman's passionate, endlessly believable vocals - and all those great melodies and harmonies.
