Blondie was an American rock band formed by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. The band pioneered the early American New Wave and punk scene in the mid-1970s. Their first two albums contained strong elements of these genres, and although successful in the United Kingdom, Blondie never managed to break through in the American market.
