Blondie is an iconic American rock band that emerged from the New York City punk and new wave scene in the mid-1970s. The band was formed by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein, and they quickly became known for their eclectic mix of musical styles, incorporating elements of disco, pop, rap, and reggae into their work. Blondie's self-titled debut album was released in 1976, but it was their third album, "Parallel Lines" (1978), that catapulted them to international fame, largely due to the success of the hit single "Heart of Glass." Throughout their career, Blondie has scored several chart-topping hits, including "Call Me," "The Tide Is High," and "Rapture," which is notably one of the first songs featuring rap to reach number one in the United States.
