Superlative After Ayreon released the live album "Electric Castle Live and Other Tales" in early 2020, the progressive metallers around Dutch musician Arjen Lucassen are now releasing a new studio record. "Transitus" is the title of the concept album, which this time does not move in the Ayreon universe. Instead, there's a gothic horror set in 1884. The main characters are named Abby and Daniel. As always, Lucassen will be supported by a host of top-notch guests, including former Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, Epica's Simone Simons, Tommy Karevik of Kamelot, guitarist Marty Friedman and many more. The narrator was former Doctor Who actor Tom Baker. In addition to the double CD, "Transitus" is also available as a double LP on red vinyl with a gatefold sleeve. There is also a textbook with four CDs and a DVD. It comes with various special features, such as a 5.1 mix of the album and a 25-page comic by Chilean cartoonist Felix Vega, which is also included on the double LP.
