80s soundtrack cover What happens when you're quarantined for a long time? You watch a lot of movies. That's when Chris Laney (Pretty Maids) realised how many fantastic soundtracks there are. After an online interview with Allan Sørensen (Pretty Maids, Royal Hunt) and Morten Sandager (Pretty Maids, Mercenary), they decided to contact a few friends and ask them if they would like to be involved in the cover project. When they were eventually joined by Björn "Speed" Strid (The Night Flight Orchestra, Soilwork), "At The Movies" was born. "We just wanted to have fun in these dark times. So I called some friends who were really into it. I know it's a huge blessing to know all these talented people. Some I've played in bands with, others I've worked with in the studio and on stage or just met. We were just never all in the same room," Laney says. Also contributing were Pontus Norgren (Hammerfall), Pontus Egberg (King Diamond, Wolf) and Linnéa Vikström (Kamelot, Therion) and guest stars like Ronnie Atkins (Pretty Maids), Jacob Hansen (producer of Volbeat/Amaranthe/Pretty Maids) and Bruce Kulick (ex-Kiss). "At The Movies: Soundtrack Of Your Life - Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2" are two cover albums with new rock interpretations of famous movie songs from the 80s and 90s. The selection of songs on "At The Movies: Soundtrack Of Your Life - Vol. 1" is diverse. It includes classics of film music such as "The Power Of Love" ("Back To The Future"), "No Easy Way Out" ("Rocky IV"), "Maniac" ("Flashdance"), "The Heat Is On" ("Beverly Hills Cop"), "St. Elmo's Fire" ("Man On The Move") and many more.
