Tone Loc, whose real name is Anthony Terrell Smith, is an American rapper and actor who rose to fame in the late 1980s. His gravelly, distinctive voice and laid-back style became his trademark. Tone Loc's debut album, "Lōc'ed After Dark," released in 1989, was a major success, largely due to the hit singles "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina," both of which became pop and rap staples. These songs not only helped to define the rap genre of that era but also crossed over to mainstream audiences, earning Tone Loc a place in music history. His initial success was followed by a second album titled "Cool Hand Lōc" in 1991. Although it did not achieve the same level of success as his debut, it solidified his presence in the music industry.
