Stéphane Grappelli was a renowned French jazz violinist who achieved fame for his virtuosic skills and his significant contributions to the genre of gypsy jazz. Born on January 26, 1908, in Paris, France, Grappelli's career spanned over half a century, during which he became known for his elegant and lyrical playing style. He is perhaps best known for his collaboration with the legendary Romani-French guitarist Django Reinhardt. Together, they formed the Quintette du Hot Club de France in the 1930s, which became one of the most original and influential jazz ensembles of its time.
